I'm ready to be done with hospitals! I hope my kids never go back! Its not fun having your little baby hooked up to all those machines. The hardest part was being strong and not to fall a part.
Jordyn had really bad retractions when she'd breath(scariest thing ever!) She kept choking and her eyes would get huge. It was defiantly terrifying. Especially because there was nothing I could do, but watch.
When we where at the hospital doctors would come check on her every 2-3 hours and there where always a few of them and they would come at different times. And in between those visits we had our nurse come in and check jordyn every hour and suction her nose out. (For some reason they never came at the same time.) It was exhausting. They had me really worried because they where there none stop and My poor little Jordyn got no rest. I never thought it would be a good thing to have your kid get less attention, but I have learned the less you see of them the better their doing!
This has been another experience that makes me more grateful for my wonderful kids. Jordyn being in the NICU at birth and then again for RSV helped look at things in new way. Even though sometimes, they might drive me crazy... Or keep me up at all hours of the night, I wouldn't trade them for anything! I have come to realize how much I need my kids more than they need me. They are my whole world!
The hard part about the hospital, is just never knowing how long your going to be there. When Jordyn was born 4 days turned into 7days. And then from RSV, she would get better, but then be right back where she was before. I just wanted to take her home and snuggle on the bed with her. But I was so grateful that she was there being taken care of.
Things happen for a reason, even though I have no clue what they are. I just have to make sure we are doing whats right and the rest will follow. I'm extremely grateful for our friends and their eagerness to help us out. It has made things so much easier.
On another note, Jordyn did have a doctor that could have been Will Ferrell twin! I was trying to be serious the whole time he was talking, but once he was out the door I couldn't stop laughing!
